The XC702 is a race-ready shoe with all the performance features which we may need. The carbon-reinforced midsole is the most important of these layers as it places the XC702 at the top of Shimano's stiffness hierarchy. This puts the XC702 into ready to race with highly efficient power delivery and just a hint of increased utility when negotiating obstacles or climbing steep embankments. While not as stiff as the S-Phyre, the XC702 has a more durable set of lugs therefore, it is better suited for hiking on sloppy run-ups or trails. Rubberized outsole also includes toe stud mounts if you don't even have enough protrusions. The top is secured by two BOA L6 dials allowing you to quickly select a fit.
